Cats Are Still Cats Whether They Have Been Adopted or Not.
Walk into any shelter and you'll see it. Cats stretching against door frames. Kneading blankets. Reaching for anything tall enough to sharpen their claws on. The instinct to play, to climb, to scratch and it doesn't stop just because they're in between homes. They stretch. They scratch. They bat at anything that moves. They find the one patch of sunlight in a room and claim it. A shelter doesn't change that. Cats are born to play whether they have a home or not.
This was the thought behind our National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day donation. We believe a cat shouldn't have to wait for a forever family to experience something that was made for them. We wanted to give them the best lives they could possibly have while they wait for their forever homes.

We watched it happen in real time. Within minutes of easy set-up and assembly, the cats were stretching to their full height against the Curvy Clawer Scratchers (seen above). This is the kind of deep, satisfying pull that a flat cardboard pad can never offer. The Curvy Clawers became their stage. Cats draped across them, rolled on them, batted at each other from either end. A quiet corner of the shelter turned into the most popular spot in the room.
